Elite Hotel Knaust,
A real classic! Sundsvall, perhaps the whole of Norrland’s, most talked about and mythical hotel with the iconic marble staircase in the foyer. This is a high quality accommodation in the middle of central Sundsvall and this year the restaurant is listed in the Food Guide White Guide.
Hotell Södra Berget,
Södra stadsberget 1
The hotel complex on the southern city mountain has most of it. Great accommodation, great views, and generous spa department among other things. Adjoining is an amusement park with bowling alleys, laser hall, the Prison Island adventure competition and lots of activities for both adults and children.
Norrland’s largest city gallery and hub in Sundsvall’s central shopping center with just over 30 stores. There are large chains such as H&M and Åhléns, but also restaurants, cafes and specialty shops for beauty, technology and health.
Shop for design, interior design, furniture and lighting. The shop also has crockery, fabrics and kitchen gadgets. Always very exciting for big and small in the gift department.
Furniture, glass, porcelain and curiosities are penetrated into this charming shop. Exciting range of antiques and 1900s design. Overall good quality.

Sundsvall’s most well-stocked delicacy store is located on Norra Berget and buns up with everything from reindeer meat to cheeses and ready-to-eat nectar – and very much is regional food craft.
Made in Medelpad,
Fun shop with hand-picked range of design, art and local food crafts exclusively linked to the Medelpad landscape. Unique gifts and good rotation in the range.
Mat & dryck
En liten krog,
Small pub, but big heart for cooking. A la carte restaurant with playful dishes and a nice atmosphere. Here, Korean raw beef naturally comes with classic char on the menu.
Dolcetto Trattoria Italiana,
Italian neighborhood restaurant in the center. Great food and the kind of atmosphere that makes many guests become regulars. Good vegetarian options.
Udda makes tapas in its very own way with inspiration from all corners of the world. Well-cooked food and nice bar. Popular meeting place at night.
The Asian cuisine meets the Norrland. The lunches are more traditional, but in the evening it breaks loose with char and sashimi, deer and kimchi or why not sushi with tenderloin and squash?
Nice Invito offers Italian cooking with Norrland raw materials. A bit more expensive, but very good food from the à la carte menu or the tasting menus.
Bubbling restaurant complex in the center with hamburger bar, quality pizzeria and wine and drink bar. Own beer brewery of course and wide range of drinks. Here is something for everyone.
Ågläntan Bistro, Bar & Café,
It’s hard to sit better on a sunny day! The restaurant Ågläntan with its generous outdoor seating hangs on the edge of the Selångersån and looks out over the people’s life. Italian focus on food and fine bar.
The Bishops Arms,
Super-rustic interior with homely library part. There is food here, but above all the city’s widest beer offer with a lot of local and regional both on tap and bottle.
Se & göra
Norra bergets friluftsområde,
In the outdoor area there are many activities and nice nature to discover, as well as historic buildings, old farm animals and cultural-historical crops. In addition, Sundsvall’s perhaps best playground and several dining options – perfect for the family.
